Uphouse Crafts: Turning Passion into Business

In 2019, inspired by my growing love for sewing and the need to adapt to our family's new dynamics following Jack's autism diagnosis, I launched Uphouse Crafts. This endeavour has enabled me to blend my passion for sewing with the practicalities of working from home, and supporting my family's needs.

My Shetland Roots

Having spent most of my life in Shetland, other than the years I spent in Aberdeen and Edinburgh for my university education.  Shetland is a unique place that calls out to so many of us. It's more than just a location; it's a source of inspiration reflected in my work. From puffins to nautical themes, my creations showcase the beauty and distinctiveness of Shetland, made with local wool that is hand-knitted in Fair-Isle patterns and hand-drawn designs of our serene landscapes and coastal scenes.

How We Can Collaborate

Sewing Classes: In June 2023, I began sharing my love for sewing through classes under the Shetland Island Council Adult Learning Department. Whether you're a beginner or just looking to refine your skills, my private lessons for individuals or pairs offer a personalized learning experience.

Custom Creations: If you have a unique idea for a sewn item or a digital drawing of landscapes and boats, let's bring it to life together! Email or Facebook to discuss how I can craft something unique for you.

Explore and Purchase from Uphouse Crafts: Embark on your sewing adventure or own a piece of Shetland's beauty captured in my crafts. Let's create and learn together.
