Volunteering at my local Brownie's - Look what we made!
Share
I’ve been volunteering at the local Aith Brownies (with Girlguiding Scotland) for a wee while now. Last summer, Hannah the local guide leader, asked if I could work on a wall hanging with the girls.
This would be something that they could hang up when doing events, to show what you can accomplish when you all work together.
First, we all made squares with either initials or a favourite item/pet appliquéd on.
Then the girls all helped lay out the squares, sew them together and finish the quilted wall hanging.
Because it’s taken quite a few months to make, some of the girls have moved up to be Guides now, and some of the new Brownies who were Rainbows have been involved in finishing the wall hanging.
It really has been a team effort for the Aith Rainbows, Brownies, and Guides. I couldn’t be more proud of them and how keen they were all to give it a go. They all did amazingly.
